This year Ubicomp has attempted to make the conference more accessible, by carefully looking into accessibility issues in advance. Ensuring a truly accessible conference is a slow and complex process, and we apologize this information was made available after the registration deadline!
We have conducted a thorough review of the conference venue and the primary Western hotel, the Holiday Inn. Please contact us if you have any accessibility concerns, we are happy to help make arrangements!
Four announcements:
1. Accessibility site survey details: Can be found on the website at Accessible Site Survey
2. Registration: Please note all accessibility needs on your registration or contact us at qiongwuwu@gmail.com. We will be in touch.
3. Accessible rooms: Rooms that are suitable for wheelchairs are extremely limited. The Holiday Inn only has two. Please contact us if you need us to help with arrangements.
4. Air quality: Please be mindful that in some rooms, and lobbies people will be smoking. Even when the hotel has separate smoking and non-smoking rooms shared ventilation systems can result in non-smoking spaces to have lesser air-quality. If you are affected by these issues please bring your medication.
As the conference progresses please seek our committee or the SVs should problems or needs arise.
Thank you,
Qiong Wu & Jennifer A. Rode, Ubicomp 2011 Accessibility Chairs
