Social Events

To foster the social aspects of UbiComp 2007 we have an official Workshop Reception & Conference Warm-Up on Sunday evening. Furthermore there will be the Google Reception on Monday accompanying the Poster, Video and Demo session, while the Conference Dinner is planned to take place on Tuesday evening at a particularly interesting and typical location. During the Conference Dinner we will arrange an entertainment block to give the conference attendees an understanding of the Tyrolean and Austrian culture and history.

Workshop Reception & Conference Warm-Up (KDubiq Reception)

The Workshop Reception & Conference Warm-Up takes place on Sunday evening after a long Workshop Day at the beautiful Orangerie of the Congress Center, only 200m from the Workshop Day venue. All participants of any of the workshops, the doctoral colloquium, the KDubiq working group meeting as well as any main conference delegate is invited to join us for this event!

Poster, Video & Demo Reception (Google Reception)

The Poster, Video & Demo Reception empowered by Google takes place on the three exhibition floors around the impressive Crystal Gallery with a scenic view towards the famous Nordkette of Innsbruck. The Google Reception offers culinary specialities and beverages as support to an intensive poster, video and demo session.

Conference Dinner at the Top of the Mountains

For the Conference Dinner on Tuesday evening we will leave the city and enjoy a relaxing and entertaining evening in a mountain restaurant. This social event includes a short trip by bus and a cable car ride up to 1605m with a great view over Innsbruck and the surrounding villages.

As the conference dinner takes place in a mountain restaurant, we ask all participants to please make sure to carry along appropriate shoes and warm clothing too.

  • We will leave the Congress Center by bus starting 5.45pm to 6.30pm
  • Arrival at Muttereralm between 6pm and 7pm: arriving early allows for a scenic walk around the restaurant to enjoy the mountains, lakes and the great view over the vallee.
  • Shuttle service back to Innsbruck begins at around 11pm. Last departure from the alm at around midnight.
