UbiComp / ISWC 2023
Broadening Participation

UbiComp/ISWC 2023 strives to promote diversity and inclusivity by actively seeking out and inviting speakers and attendees from diverse backgrounds. This year through various events and schemes, we hope to increase the involvement of under-represented researchers, researchers from developing countries, as well as underrepresented minorities, including persons with disabilities, in the field of ubiquitous and wearable computing.

Registration Fee Discount

To enable wide participation in the conference, this year UbiComp/ISWC has introduced different registration pricing based on geographic regions and grouping of the World Bank Classifications into 3 groups of High, Middle and Low Income countries. With the new registration tiers, middle-income countries receive 50% registration discount, while low-income countries receive 75% discount. Find out more in the registration page.

Travel Grants

The organizing committee of UbiComp/ISWC 2023, is excited to offer opportunities for Travel Grants to those who lack the means to pay for registration, or who cannot afford to travel to attend the conference. Please visit the Travel Grant page for more information.

The Americas Student Symposium on Emerging Technologies (ASSET) is a special program that will run at UbiComp/ISWC 2023 as part of SIGMOBILEโ€™s students’ outreach. Student participating to ASSET will be divided into small groups and each group will be provided with an excellent and dynamic research mentor who will help them hone their research skills. Students accepted into the ASSET program will participate to the pre-conference ASSET Symposium, and will receive full financial support to attend UbiComp/ISWC 2023. More information about how to participate in ASSET is available here.

Past Conferences

The ACM international joint conference on Pervasive and Ubiquitous Computing (UbiComp) is the result of a merger of the two most renowned conferences in the field: Pervasive and UbiComp. While it retains the name of the latter in recognition of the visionary work of Mark Weiser, its long name reflects the dual history of the new event.

The ACM International Symposium on Wearable Computing (ISWC) discusses novel results in all aspects of wearable computing, and has been colocated with UbiComp and Pervasive since 2013.

A complete list of UbiComp, Pervasive, and ISWC past conferences is provided below.
