posters

Posters allow research to be presented in a format which facilitates discussion and debate, and enable the authors to interact directly with conference attendees. Posters are suitable for work which is late-breaking, preliminary, exploratory in nature, smaller projects not suitable for a full paper, and any other research for which the authors wish to make use of this highly interactive format.

There will be a special Demonstrations and Poster Reception on one of the evenings during the main conference, in which poster authors are encouraged to be available to discuss their work with other conference attendees. The posters themselves will be available for viewing throughout the conference.

Poster submissions should include an extended abstract of no longer than 2 pages in the ACM SIGCHI conference publications format, including all figures and references. Submissions may also include a further single page which describes the poster itself for review purposes, this may be a draft of the poster, or text describing the proposed layout. The use of this page is encouraged to convey to reviewers visual aspects of the envisioned poster which may not come across in the abstract, for example including a key graphic to be used in the poster. This supplemental page will not be published.

Accepted 2-page poster abstracts will be published in a Conference Supplement that will be circulated to attendees at the conference and be made available online; they will not be incorporated into the main UbiComp 2004 Conference Proceedings. Submissions by email to the address below. Submissions should not be anonymised.
