Conference Banquet

Tuesday, Ocotober 14, 7:00-10:00pm:

The Conference Banquet will include a buffet dinner at the Pacific Science Center. Take a 90-second ride on the monorail from Westlake Center -- across the street from the Westin -- to the Seattle Center (your badge will be your ticket), where the Pacific Science Center is a short walk from the monorail station. After the banquet, the monorail will be available to take you back to Westlake Center up until 11:00pm. The cost of this event is included in the conference registration fee; additional banquet tickets may be purchased for US$60.

Seattle Center is the 74-acre park developed for the 1962 World's Fair. Among the Center's most spectacular structures is the Pacific Science Center. Explore the secrets of the Universe, science and technology through the many interactive displays and exhibits.

Inside, the Pacific Science Center is a world of entertainment that will turn any adult into a kid. Experience Bodyworks, a computer that can generate a picture of your face. It can perform all sorts of distortions to the image, including splitting it in half to show that the two halves of a face are not symmetric. After Bodyworks, venture into the Willard S. Smith Planetarium where you'll learn about the season's constellation in this live interactive astronomy show.

The most recent addition to the science center is the popular Ackerley Family Gallery. Where visitors are invited to explore a tropical butterfly house that exhibits countless numbers of butterflies from around the world! Witness these fascinating creatures emerging from a chrysalis, eating, or drinking from a pool of water on the ground - watch your step! Just outside, in the Insect Village, you can interact with various other species of insects, from the common honeybee in a working hive to the delicate leaf bug.
