Your tasks:
*
Develop cognitive models of driver and vulnerable road user (VRU) decision-making based on psychological state/trait concepts
*
Design, conduct, and analyze user studies (driving simulator, MR/VR, real-world traffic) including eye-tracking, psychophysiological, and motion-capturing data
*
Build physical behavior models of VRUs (e.g., trajectories, postures) and integrate cognitive factors into holistic prediction models
*
Implement and advance machine learning and explainable AI (XAI) approaches.
*
Design and evaluate innovative human–machine interfaces (HMI).
Your profile:
*
Master’s degree in Computer Science, Psychology, Human Factors, Data Science/AI, Engineering, or a related field.
*
Strong skills in data analysis, ML frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow), and programming (e.g., Python, C#, R, SPSS); interest in XAI and HMI design is a plus.
*
Experience in empirical research and handling psychophysiological data (EEG, ECG, SpO₂, GSR).
*
Knowledge of cognitive models, traffic behavior, or state/trait psychology is advantageous.
*
Independent, interdisciplinary work style, with enthusiasm for vehicle safety, human factors, and human–AI interaction.
*
Excellent English (C1) and good German skills (B2).

Your Tasks:
*
Programming and further development of driving simulations (IPG CarMaker), including sensor and actuator integration
*
Development of immersive XR applications (Unity, Unreal, or CARLA) including motion platform integration
*
Design and implementation of innovative study and interaction scenarios in AR/VR/XR
*
Integration of XR environments with driving simulation and psychophysiological measurement systems
*
Independent research, user studies, and scientific publication activities
Your Profile:
*
Excellent university degree (Master’s or equivalent) in Computer Science or a related discipline
*
Strong programming skills in at least one higher-level programming language (e.g., C#.NET, Java) and substantial experience in developing XR applications
*
Passion for technology and research, particularly at the intersection of human–machine interaction
*
Strong problem-solving abilities and high affinity for interdisciplinary HCI-related research
*
