Why PerFail?
Not all great ideas work out — and that’s worth talking about.

PerFail 2026 is the place to share what didn’t go as planned in pervasive and ubiquitous computing.
We celebrate honest accounts of failed experiments, surprising results, dead ends, and lessons learned — because failure moves science forward.

We Want Your Stories
We invite short papers that discuss:
- Experiments that didn’t confirm their hypotheses
- Unexpected system, deployment, or data issues
- Insights from projects that went sideways — and what others can learn
- Reproductions that didn’t quite reproduce
- Honest reflections on why things failed and what’s next
- If your research didn’t work out, PerFail is where it belongs.

Submission Details:
- Up to 6 pages, IEEE 2-column format
- Accepted papers appear in IEEE Xplore
- Submission deadline: 1 Dec 2025 (AoE)
- Notification: 5 Jan 2026
- Camera-ready: 2 Feb 2026
- At least one author must attend and present in person at IEEE PerCom 2026.

PerFail isn’t about celebrating failure — it’s about learning from it.
