Hi all,
We at the University of Stavanger in Norway have an opening for a
fully-funded PhD position on AI-based Vehicular Communication in 6G Edge
Networks. Feel free to apply if you qualify or spread the word if you know
someone who is qualified.
See details below. Application and description link available here:

*Over the past years, University of Stavanger has acquired strong
competence both in the fields of AI and 5G communication networks through
activities in the Stavanger AI Lab (SAIL) and NFR-funded 5G-MODaNel
project. The ComNet research group also possesses an on-premises 5G network
testbed. We also have ongoing collaborations with top industry players
including telecom providers such as Lyse AS as well as internationally
within academia such as University of Pisa. The PhD Fellow will be
affiliated with the Computer Networks Research Group (ComNet) at the
department. The proposed PhD project aims to advance the field of 6G
vehicular networks by harnessing the AI capabilities to provide
ultra-reliable low-latency communication in the networks’ edge. The
research will focus on a research area chosen together with the candidate
based on his/her interest and background. Examples of possible research
areas with an emphasis on network performance and robustness are the
following: 1. Developing methods for the seamless integration of
Non-Terrestrial Networks (NTN) into 6G vehicular networks for vehicles and
UAVs – e.g., for urban air mobility.2. Designing Federated Learning (FL)
systems for secure and ultra-reliable communication in 6G vehicular
networks – e.g., for cooperative sensing and perception, collective
intelligence, or resource allocation.3. Developing Explainable AI (xAI)
methods for decision transparency in safety-critical applications in 6G
vehicular networks. *
*Overall, this project seeks to push the boundaries of how AI can be
applied to create more reliable, secure and low latency 6G networks for
vehicular environments. *
Cheers,
