Dear Colleagues,
We are pleased to announce the call for bids to host the 2026 and the
2027 editions of the ACM International Joint Conference on Pervasive and
Ubiquitous Computing (UbiComp).
UbiComp is a premier event in the field, formed through the merger of
the Pervasive and UbiComp conferences. Co-located with UbiComp since
2013, the ACM International Symposium on Wearable Computing (ISWC)
explores novel research in wearable computing.
To ensure broad accessibility for our international community, the
conference rotates across three continents:
2026: Preference will be given to bids from the Americas (Central,
South, and North America).
2027: Preference will be given to bids from the Asia/Pacific region.
We also welcome proposals from the Middle East and Africa, where UbiComp
has not yet been hosted.
Ideal host locations should meet the following criteria:
- Venue: Accommodates 500-800 attendees, with facilities for keynotes,
paper sessions, and networking events.
- Accessibility: Convenient access to airports and public transit.
- Entry/Visa Policy: Country with favorable visa policies for
international attendees.
- Accommodations: Proximity to diverse lodging options for different
budgets.
- Local Amenities: Availability of dining, entertainment, and cultural
attractions.
- Technical Capabilities: Strong technological infrastructure to support
presentations and event management.
Proposals should include:
- Vision: Conference venue details, logistical plans, and unique aspects
of your bid.
- Budget: Preliminary financial plan covering venue costs and conference
expenses.
- Experience: Relevant event-hosting experience.
- Involvement: Details of prior participation in UbiComp or ACM
SIGCHI/SIGMOBILE conferences.
- Support: Endorsements from local institutions, if available.
- Sponsorship: Plans for securing funding and sponsorships.
- Organizing Team: Names and short bios of proposed conference chairs
(e.g., general chair, technical program chair).
- Schedule: A tentative program for both UbiComp and ISWC tracks and events.
