The Institute of Technical Informatics at Graz University of Technology
(TU Graz), Austria, is looking for a talented PhD student to fill an
open university assistant position starting from Fall 2024. The
candidate will carry out scientific research in the field of UWB indoor
positioning systems, the results of the research shall be published at
conferences, in journals, and should lead to a dissertation. The
candidate will also be involved in the education of Bachelor's and
Master's students.
*** Admission Requirements ***
Completed Master or Diploma in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering,
Information & Computer Engineering or equivalent.
*** Desired Qualification ***
- Very good knowledge of and interest in design, implementation, and
evaluation of UWB-based indoor positioning approaches for low-power
embedded systems that meet high accuracy and reliability requirements.
- Very good knowledge of English, both written and spoken; knowledge of
the German language is considered an advantage.
- Didactic qualifications for teaching courses.
*** Research team and working environment ***
The PhD and Postdoc positions will reinforce and extend the research
activities of the "Low-power Embedded Networked Systems" (LENS) group at
the Institute of Technical Informatics. The group has a long-standing
track record in the area of networked embedded systems, and is one of
the leading European groups on low-power wireless networking and IoT
research.
The high quality of the research output is supported by several awards
and by numerous conference papers at prestigious venues such as SenSys,
IPSN, NDSS, ICDCS, INFOCOM, ICNP, EWSN, and RTSS. Group members have
also chaired many of such leading conferences. The team's activities can
be broadly characterized as "systems and application-driven research" at
the intersection of wireless networking, embedded systems, and IoT
