Dear Colleagues,

Upon various requests, the deadline for submitting your original papers to our workshop<https://www.linkedin.com/feed/hashtag/?keywords=workshop&highlightedUpdateUrns=urn%3Ali%3Aactivity%3A6958638489563271168> on "B5G/6G Support for Next-generation Industrial Internet-of-Things (B5G/6G-NG-IIoT)" has been extended to 26/07/2024 (firm). The workshop will be co-located with the IEEE 100th Vehicular Technology Conference (VTC2024-Fall), 7-10 October 2024 | Washington DC, USA.

Extended submission deadline: 26 July 2024 (firm).

Those who cannot travel to the USA can request virtual presentation during paper submission.

Scope: Industrial internet-of-things (IIoT) use cases (e.g., self-driving cars and Industry 4.0) have stringent requirements (e.g., low-latency and high-reliability) that are out of reach of legacy connectivity solutions (e.g., Wi-Fi and 4G). While the advanced 5G features (e.g., time-sensitive networking (TSN) and ultra-reliable low-latency communication (URLLC)) can meet some of these requirements, they fall short in supporting the most demanding use cases. In this context, this workshop aims at exploring the latest features and components of beyond 5G (B5G) and 6G networks to overcome the limits of 5G. First, the workshop will identify the gaps of the existing 5G solutions in supporting the most advanced IIoT use cases. Second, the workshop will disseminate the latest findings and solutions assessing the capabilities of future B5G/6G networks in filling those gaps, including optimised protocols, architectural innovation (e.g., advanced network slicing, next-generation multi-access edge computing (MEC) and Open RAN), novel algorithms, metrics, and tools. Third, the workshop will analyse and discuss pressing challenges and future trends in the development, integration, testing, and deployment of B5G/6G technological components to better serve the specific needs of IIoT use cases.
The topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

  *   B5G/6G-enabled IIoT use cases;
  *   Realistic B5G/6G channel models for IIoT;
  *   B5G/6G physical layer enhancements for IIoT;
  *   Advanced radio resource management (RRM) for IIoT;
  *   Cross-layer optimisation of B5G/6G IIoT networks;
  *   B5G/6G multi-access edge computing (MEC) for IIoT;
  *   B5G/6G cloud/fog/edge/device computing continuum for IIoT;
  *   B5G/6G Network Slicing for IIoT;
  *   B5G/6G Open RAN for IIoT;
  *   B5G/6G integration of architectural enablers (e.g., MEC, Network Slicing and Open RAN) for IIoT;
  *   B5G/6G hybrid (i.e., public, private and hybrid) deployments for IIoT;
  *   B5G/6G Licensed, lightly licensed (i.e., shared), and unlicensed spectrum for IIoT;
  *   B5G/6G AI/ML-assisted connectivity, cooperation, and autonomy for IIoT;
  *   B5G/6G combined communications, computation, positioning and sensing (CCPS) for IIoT;
  *   B5G/6G-assisted enhanced positioning and navigation for IIoT;
  *   Energy efficiency optimisation of B5G/6G IIoT networks;
  *   B5G/6G subnetworks for IIoT;
  *   B5G/6G digital twin-assisted optimisation for IIoT;
  *   B5G/6G advanced security and threat analytics for IIoT;
  * Testbeds, experimental evaluations, and field trials of IIoT use cases.
Important dates:
Paper submission due: 26 July 2024 (firm)
