[Announcements] Open-Ended Survey for a Delphi Study on Threshold Concepts in Cyber-Physical Systems

On behalf of my colleague, Dr. David Reeping from the University of Cincinnati, I am sharing the below announcement seeking volunteers to participate in a paid, open-ended survey for a Delphi Study on Threshold Concepts in Cyber-Physical Systems. What are the key concepts needed to master ubiquitous computing systems? If you work with systems that have both physical and computational capabilities, like autonomous vehicles, wearable and/or mobile technologies, and smart houses, we want to hear your thoughts.

We are looking for experts in cyber-physical systems in the context of academia and industry to participate in a research study funded by the National Science Foundation for the study of cyber-physical systems (CPSs) entitled "Sizing Up Physical Computing to Explore Threshold Concepts in Cyber-Physical Systems" (IIS-2302788). The purpose of this study is to determine the core concepts needed to be successful in CPS design and implementation. Ultimately, we plan to develop a physical computing testbed and open-ended design challenges to facilitate collaborative introductions to CPS design based on the concepts identified in this study.

If you are interested and available to participate in a virtual expert panel called a Delphi Study, which will consist of open-ended survey questions (which often consist of three rounds) to seek agreement about these core concepts needed to be successful in CPS design and implementation, please sign up here:

The total time commitment for this study will be approximately 1.75 hours, with approximately 45 minutes spent in the first round and 30 minutes in the later rounds. You will be paid $100 in the form of an Amazon gift card for completing all rounds of the Delphi study. The study is expected to start this Spring.
