MUM 2019, the 18th International Conference on Mobile and Ubiquitous
Multimedia, will be held on 26-29 November 2019 at the CNR Area of
Research in Pisa, Italy.

GENERAL INFORMATION
================================
The International Conference on Mobile and Ubiquitous Multimedia (MUM)
is a leading annual international conference which provides a forum for
presenting the latest research results on mobile and ubiquitous
multimedia. The conference brings together experts from both academia
and industry for a fruitful exchange of ideas and discussion on future
challenges, in a comfortable and effective single-track conference
format. This year's conference continues the tradition of innovation and
excellence established by previous MUM conferences. In addition to the
peer-reviewed accepted papers, the conference program will include
keynote presentations, posters, demos and a video track. The conference
will also have a co-located doctoral school. The technical program will
be complemented by social events to facilitate informal discussions and
networking among the conference attendees and invited guests.

TOPICS
================================
Conference topics include, but are not limited to the following:
-Augmented and Mixed Reality systems and applications
-Architectures, systems, algorithms and other constructions tackling
relevant technical challenges
-Case studies, field trials, or user experience evaluations of new
applications and services
-Conceptualizations and theorizations of the field
-Context-aware and location-based mobile and ubiquitous services
-Metrics and measures for evaluating and testing mobile and ubiquitous
systems
-Middleware and distributed computing support for mobile and ubiquitous
multimedia
-Novel applications for mobile and ubiquitous gaming, entertainment,
networking, advertising, etc.
-Social and privacy implications of mobile and ubiquitous multimedia systems
-Tools and development environments for building mobile and ubiquitous
multimedia systems

FULL AND SHORT PAPERS - SUBMISSION and DEADLINES
================================================
We welcome submissions of high-quality papers that offer original and
unpublished contributions relevant to the field of mobile and ubiquitous
multimedia, either in full paper format (max. 10 pages excluding
references) or short paper format (max. 6 pages excluding references).
Successful full paper submissions typically represent a significant
empirical, theoretical or methodological advances in the field. Short
papers offer more focused contributions; they are not work in progress
reports but offer completed, rigorously researched/developed work with a
solid contribution to the field. Short papers are likely to have a
smaller scope of contribution than full papers.

Papers must be submitted via EasyChair
(https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=mum20190) and follow the SIGCHI
Proceedings Format
(http://www.mum-conf.org/2019/templates/MUM2019_Templates.zip).

Full and Short Paper Submission deadline: September 1, 2019
Full and Short Paper Notification: September 30, 2019

WORKSHOPS - SUBMISSION and DEADLINES
================================================

MUM 2019 conference also welcomes proposals for workshops. A MUM
Workshop is a forum for attendees with shared interests to present,
discuss, and develop new ideas around a specific theme or domain related
to Mobile and Ubiquitous Multimedia. It is the perfect opportunity for
putting the best minds in the field together to build new communities,
to explore new ideas, and to develop emerging topics.

All workshops will take place on the Tuesday before the conference, on
the 26th of November. Because workshops are meant to encourage ideas
exchange, we encourage proposals that go beyond being a mini-conference
and that engage participants in hands-on activities and in discussions.
We also encourage organizers to open the workshops to conference
attendees without a workshop paper, but who would be interested in
participating.

If you are interested in submitting a proposal and wish to discuss your
ideas prior to the submission deadline, the workshop chairs welcome any
inquiries. You can contact workshop chairs at
WorkshopTutorial2019 at mum-conf.org.

Workshop proposal submissions should be in the SIGCHI Proceedings
Format. Submissions should be three pages or less (excluding
references), detailing your goals for the workshop, how you plan to run
the workshop, and any planned outcomes. Workshop proposal submissions
contain an abstract that is less than 150 words long that clearly states
the purpose of the workshop. Submissions must be sent by email to the
Workshop chairs (workshoptutorial2019 at mum-conf.org). Submissions will by
juried by the Workshop chairs. Accepted workshop proposals will be
included in the conference proceedings published by ACM Press and
included in the ACM Digital Library.

Workshop Proposal Submission deadline: September 1, 2019
