Please note the extension in submission deadline to Feb. 22, 2018!!!

The International Conference on Information Processing in Sensor Networks
(IPSN) is a leading annual forum on research in networked sensing and
control, broadly defined. IPSN brings together researchers from academia,
industry, and government to present and discuss recent advances in both
theoretical and experimental research. Its scope includes signal and image
processing, information and coding theory, databases and information
management, distributed algorithms, networks and protocols, wireless
communications, collaborative objects, the Internet of Things, machine
learning, mobile and social sensing, and embedded systems design. Of
special interest are contributions at the confluence of multiple of these
areas.

The Ph.D. forum brings together Ph.D. students and experienced researchers
in the field to discuss the research the student is pursuing for Ph.D. This
is an opportunity for the presenting student to get feedback on her
research from experts in the field. We will also invite leading researchers
to discuss their experiences of sensor systems research.

Current Ph.D. students in the middle stages of their career are encouraged
to submit a 2-page extended abstract about their dissertation research to
be considered for the Ph.D. Forum. It is not useful to present an already
completed work or paper at the Ph.D. forum. The forum is an opportunity to
get feedback on your ongoing work you are building towards your Ph.D.
dissertation. It is ok to not have all the research results when you
present at the Ph.D. forum. The abstract shall also include a one-paragraph
bio of the student, along with information on how long he/she has been in
Ph.D. program and the expected timeline towards graduation. The student
should be the sole author, although contributions of the advisor and others
should be acknowledged. Submissions will be reviewed by the Ph.D. Forum
committee to ensure quality, relevance, and potential benefit from
attendance to the Forum. Authors of accepted submissions are expected to
participate in person to the Forum and to present a poster both at the
Forum and at the main conference. There will be no separate registration
fee for the Forum. Participants to the Ph.D. forum shall register for the
main conference at student rate.

***Submission Guidlines***

Submissions must be received no later than the submission deadline. Topic
scope is the same as that listed in the IPSN call for papers. Submissions
must be in PDF format, be written in English and formatted using Alternate
ACM SIG Proceeding Style. Extended abstracts are at most 2 pages, including
figures, tables, and references. Abstracts should not be anonymous. Please
make sure you use the latest version of the templates to prepare your
submissions. Due to the short interval between the notification of
acceptance and the camera-ready deadline, we strongly encourage authors to
follow the camera-ready formatting guidelines as closely as possible even
for the initial abstract submission. For any questions, please contact the
Ph.D. forum chairs:

Omprakash Gnawali (University of Houston): gnawali at cs.uh.edu

Andrew Markham (University of Oxford): andrew.markham at cs.ox.ac.uk
