Dear colleagues,
The Editors of the Proceedings of the ACM (PACM) on Interactive,
Mobile, Wearable and Ubiquitous Technologies (IMWUT) would like to
inform the community about the results of the third submission cycle
of the journal (deadline: May 15, 2017).
On the May 2017 deadline, we received 268 new submissions as well as a
total of 94 re-submissions from previous cycles (6 from the November
2016 cycle and 88 from the February 2017 cycle). We returned reviews
and decisions for the papers within 6-8 weeks from the date of
submission. Quick rejects were notified within 4 weeks after
submission.
All accepted papers will be published in the PACM IMWUT Issue 3 for
2017, which will be published in September 2017.
All papers accepted for IMWUT Issue 3 for 2017 as well as papers
accepted in the previous two issues (Issue 1 and Issue 2 for 2017)
have been invited to present at UbiComp 2017. Papers submitted to the
next deadline (August 15, 2017) and the three following ones will be
invited to present at UbiComp 2018, if accepted.
The decisions for the 268 new submissions in the May 2017 cycle are as follows:
23 papers (9%) accepted with minor revisions
97 papers (36%) need major revisions
89 papers (33%) rejected
58 papers (22%) quick rejected
1 paper (0%) withdrawn
The 97 papers that need major revisions must be re-submitted to one of
the next two deadlines (August 15, 2017 or November 15, 2017). Those
papers have a strong chance of being accepted, provided that the
requested changes are implemented and the reviewers confirm their
concerns are successfully addressed by these changes. Examples of
acceptance rates of papers re-submitted after having bein suggested
for major revisions in previous cycles are provided below.
The decisions for the 6 papers re-submitted on the May 2017 deadline
from the November 2016 cycle are as follows:
5 papers (83%) accepted with minor revisions
1 paper (17%) rejected
The decisions for the 88 papers re-submitted on the May 2017 deadline
from the February 2017 cycle are as follows:
62 papers (70%) accepted with minor revisions
26 paper (30%) rejected
