Positions for Research Associates/PhD Scholarships are available at the
University of Cagliari (Italy) to work under the supervision of Prof.
Daniele Riboni.
Research Associates:
Research associate positions starting in Fall 2017 are available for
participating in the research project "DomuSafe - Unobrtusive Behavior
monitoring For Active and Healthy Aging" funded by Region Sardinia. The
project aims at supporting active and healthy aging and early diagnosis
of age-related conditions by continuously monitoring the activities
carried out by the elderly at home, in a sustainable, unobtrusive and
privacy-conscious manner. Initial appointment will be for 6 months with
the possibility of extensions.
Qualifications and requirements:
* A Master degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science,
Information Science). A PhD degree is a plus.
* Proficiency in spoken and written English. Proficiency in Italian is a
plus.
* Very good proficiency in programming languages (Java, Python).
* Familiarity with Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Formal
Ontologies, Pervasive Computing Technologies, Big Data Management,
Human-Computer Interaction is an asset.
PhD Scholarships:
The University of Cagliari is offering several fully funded PhD
scholarships open to foreign students
(http://www.unica.it/pub/3/index.jsp?is=3&iso=47), starting in
Fall/Winter 2017. I am looking for candidates for the topic "Holistic
eHealth Solutions for Improving Health Status and Quality of Life". The
purpose of the study is to propose innovative ICT techniques to prolong
the independent life of the elderly population. The project will pursue
a holistic approach to achieving this goal by leveraging innovative ICT
tools and advanced artificial intelligence methods. The scholarships are
funded for the whole PhD period, which is fixed to 3 years in Italy.
