Dear Ubicomp researcher,
You are invited to participate in a crowdsourcing study run by CORE
(Australasian COmputing Research and Education association) to collect
opinions on the quality of various computer science journals.
The intent is to analyse the usefulness of this data as input to a rankings
process for adding or modifying rankings of journals in the CORE database (
portal.core.edu.au/jnl-ranks). For example, here are some of the current
rankings, in increasing order:
- Personal and Ubiquitous Computing
<http://portal.core.edu.au/jnl-ranks/551/> -- B
- Pervasive and Mobile Computing
<http://portal.core.edu.au/jnl-ranks/472/> -- B
- Computers in Human Behavior <http://portal.core.edu.au/jnl-ranks/532/> --
B
- Information and Software Technology
<http://portal.core.edu.au/jnl-ranks/370/> -- B
- IEEE Transactions on Systems, Man and Cybernetics, Part A: Systems and
Humans <http://portal.core.edu.au/jnl-ranks/39/> -- B
- International Journal of Human-Computer Interaction
<http://portal.core.edu.au/jnl-ranks/43/> -- B
- Human-Computer Interaction <http://portal.core.edu.au/jnl-ranks/861/> --
A
- International Journal of Human-Computer Studies
<http://portal.core.edu.au/jnl-ranks/861/> -- A
- ACM Transactions on Computer - Human Interaction
<http://portal.core.edu.au/jnl-ranks/518/> has the highest score -- A*
- IEEE Transactions on Computers
<http://portal.core.edu.au/jnl-ranks/360/> -- A*
To participate in this study you must be an active computer science
researcher, and hold a PhD.
Further information, and the entry point to the survey can be found at
http://portal.core.edu.au/core-survey.
Although you may think an Australian ranking may not impact many people,
previous Australian rankings have been used in many countries, especially
in Europe and Asia.
It is fairly quick to do this for Ubicomp areas of CS.
Short summary:
- please help with crowdsourcing for this ranking and this url
